Plants usually used to make hedges
are shrubs, consequently agronomic works to be carried out
are the same as the above. Pruning has to be made when new
vegetation reaches dimensions hiding the regular shape given
at the beginning ; in case the hedge is square and linear,
branches extending beyond the edge give a feeling of disorder
and neglect. The first pruning has to be made in spring /
summer time, say after the greatest growth once the vegetation
has been restarting, while last pruning has to be made almost
at the end of plant’s vegetative period so that the hedge
keeps its tidy shape during the whole autumn and winter time.
